Diverter Valves - VW 2000 GTI 1.8T


Since you have a MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) on your DBW (drive by wire) car, you can not vent boost into the atmosphere without consequences. You will run rich and probably stall the car if you do attempt this setup.

You have to run a Diverter Valve that vents back into the intake, as all the air is metered in the system. This is how your system runs stock, but the stock DV is prone to premature failure. These uprated options are currently available:
